Yes, you can use a Lanair Waste Oil Heater as your only source of heat, however we reccomend you keep any pre-existing sources of heat as well.

A common practice is to use a pre-existing heating setup and keep its thermostat down, so it will only kick in as a “backup” to your waste oil heater.

Take note, that using a waste oil heater as the ‘only’ source of heat will depend on both the size of your building and number of waste oil heaters you have. I.E. – you could not rely solely on a 150,000 BTU unit to heat a shop that may require 300,000 BTU for complete coverage.
